THIS MADE ME SO EMOTIONAL TO REREAD MY GOD.... i forgot how extremely complicated and fraught and sexy it is the whoolleee time.... i really love that their rl is so isolating and all encompassing but at the same time there's all these little intrusions from Other Gay Things happening and other Gay People existing.... so subtle..... ALSO I FORGOT THAT THEY BROKE UP AT THE END???? having them remeet with therese now a like fully dedicated lesbian is so funny and good bc its like [entire book of leaning in on strange mild toxicity] wait no we have to let them Process their Identities.... also some of these quotes are funnier out of context than i remember it being, looking back i took therese very seriously but perhaps there is more camp extravagance and silliness to the way highsmith wrote her than i first saw.....

anyway just again very glad you enjoyed it <3 and thanku for letting me re-experience it second hand hehe
